Rhyolite
stone from one of the only sources in Colorado is dug from the ground
and then broken with hammers for use in decorative building applications.
Rhyolite is a high silica stone that has a fine-grained
texture, and occurs naturally in a variety of pastel earth tones including
tan, brown, pink and purple. The stone weighs roughly one-half as much
as limestone and granite, does not crumble and is virtually impervious
to the elements. This makes it an ideal choice for building veneer faces
on structures that incorporate pleasing and historical accents.
